با توجه به گسترش روزافزون مشکلات زیست‌محیطی، شرکت­ ها هزینه­‌های سنگینی را در خصوص مسئولیت اجتماعی متحمل می‏ شوند. در این پژوهش، داده‌های مربوط به 141 شرکت پذیرفته‌شده در بورس اوراق بهادار تهران در بازه زمانی 1397-1388 گردآوری شده و چرخۀ عمر شرکت­ها به سه دستۀ شرکت­‌های در حال رشد، بالغ، و در حال افول تقسیم شده است. نتایج رگرسیون لجستیک مدل پژوهش بیان می‌کند که بین مسئولیت اجتماعی و محدودیت مالی در مرحلۀ رشد شرکت رابطه منفی و معناداری وجود دارد و در بین مسئولیت اجتماعی و محدودیت مالی در مرحلۀ بلوغ و افول شرکت رابطه منفی و معناداری وجود دارد. همچنین، نتایج نشان می‌دهد که شرکت‌های وابسته به دولت هیچ اثر معناداری در رابطه بین مسئولیت اجتماعی و محدودیت مالی ندارند. پژوهش حاضر دارای پیشنهادهای اجرایی و پژوهشی است.
