In the beginning, the paper mentions the growing demand for oil more than its global supply in the years to come as well as the need to increase the oil reservoirs and recycling coefficient in the existing oil fields. The chorological trend of convergence in drilling, railways and telegraph technologies and trade processes helped the improvement of managing goods and services supply chain though reengineering in the companies. Meanwhile, outsourcing considerable amount of modern technological services paved the way for technological development in the coming decades. Considering the essential role of national oil companies in the oil reservoirs and their oil and gas production share, there is a global need to develop technologies in these companies with the aim of supplying sustainable energy. Along with their independent organizational activities in trade environment, these companies should design their technological development strategies coordinated with the owners of advanced technologies. This paper tries to calculate the nominal and effective protection in order to examine the exchange rate unification impacts on the protection of pulp and paper industries with the aim of performing the exchange rate unification policy. Therefore, nominal protection rate of some selected products of Irans pulp and paper factories was measured and the impact of changes in exchange rates was evaluated in subsidized, free and shadow exchange rate modes. Then, the impact of changes in exchange rates (from subsidized exchange rate to free exchange rate) on the amount of effective protection in Irans pulp and paper industries was analyzed through calculation of effective protection rate. Comparative, static input-output analysis method has been used with the help of four tables related to 1973, 1986, 1991 and 2000. For this purpose, traditional backward and forward linkages indicator of structural analysis has been used in the input-output model. Moreover, the paper has made use of input-output production elasticity indicator for determining the importance of this sector. The results show that before and after the Islamic Revolution Iran, the transportation sector has had the highest linkages with the industry sector, which is the most important economic sector in Iran. Discovering the sustainable interrelation between transportation and industry sectors is regarded the most important achievement of this study. The results of this study inform the economic policymakers on the quantitative the amount of transportation sectors dependence on other sectors.
